Dutch
Oven Cookbook

Our first cook book is Dutch Oven Magic. It's written with
new Dutch Oven Cooks in mind and with all the basic pointers
you might be looking for. We have included over 250 recipes,
some requiring more talent than others. I have taken the liberty
to rate each on a scale of 1 to 10, ten being the most difficult
to prepare. Hopefully this will give those just starting out
and idea of which recipes they might like to start with.
We are also emailing a Recipe of the Week, taken from a collection
we accumulated over the years from friends and relatives.
If you would like to be put on our mailing list just send
us an email
We would also like you to share your favorite recipe if you
are so inclined. Anything you can cook or bake with a conventional stove
can be done in a Dutch Oven! With correct use and proper care,
a well-seasoned oven produces a unique flavor unequaled by
any other cooking utensil, and it tastes better. That's
the Magic!
Dutch Ovens can be used for breakfast, main dishes, desserts,
breads, and side dishes. They are only limited by your imagination.
Use them as a deep fryer, steamer, stew pot or frying pan.
Turn the lid upside down and you have a grill.
Many claim the oven originated with Dutch merchants. Some
say that Paul Revere standardized the sizes. Paul was a skilled
metal smith, and it's thought that he fashioned the lid with
it's raised rim to hold the coals, and the three legs to give
the oven
more stability on the coals.
Dutch Oven Magic will teach you the art of Dutch Oven Cooking
which has become the fastest growing form of outdoor cooking
today! More and more people are learning how to cook in it, and of the versatility and fun a Dutch Oven offers.
What's the Magic ..... Anything you can cook or bake with a conventional
stove can be done in a Dutch Oven and it tastes better, it's
fun, you can take an oven anywhere, and it's great to have
in emergencies and power outages!
In Dutch Oven Magic we start with the basic "how to".
We will start you out with easy recipes, tell you how many
charcoal briquettes to use and how long to cook your favorite
recipe.
You'll learn what to look for when buying a Dutch Oven. We
will give you some guidelines on what size oven would be best
for your needs, and how to care of your oven. We will teach
you how to season, how to clean and how to store your ovens.
After you've learned the basics . . . then we'll help you
learn different recipes.
Dutch Oven Magic comes with over 250 recipes, including many
that were used in Cook Offs around the country, including
some from the (IDOS) International Dutch Oven Society Championship
Cook Offs over the years.
