Jason Robbins Sunday Roast





3lb Beef rump roast

3 Au-jus mix packets

Garlic powder

Salt/Pepper

Water

12" Dutch Oven

Sprinkle roast with salt pepper & garlic powder (More than you think is necessary). Do not trim fat from the roast. Turn fat side upward. Place roast in an oven. Mix 1 Au-jus packet with 1 cup Hot water and stir together. Pour Au-jus around roast in the oven. First hour, Cook @ 400. Second hour, have new coals ready to replace old ones when first hour is up. Reduce heat to 325. Check Au jus level. Do not let Au jus run dry, mix another packet with 1 cup Hot water if needed. Repeat for the third hour. Roast will be done in 3 1/2 hrs. Be sure to make some tasty brown gravy from the dripping/au jus that is left in the D.O. Let roast stand for 10-15 min and serve.
